![]() ![]() Shay is happy to be back in Pretty town and really sucks. When they get to the ruins (again) she nearly tosses away Zane to be with David only to change her mind again and to take Zane. She falls in love with Zane, since she can’t remember much of what happened before. Tally has been made pretty, just like she wanted and annoyed for the first half of the book with the pretty talk. Pretties picks up almost right after Uglies. It still doesn’t mean that I was super happy with it, but it wasn’t as bad as I feared from reading it four years ago. I give Pretties by Scott Westerfeld three out of five hearts because it had an okay story and wasn’t all that bad. Now she has to choose between fighting to forget what she knows and fighting for her life - because the authorities don’t intend to let anyone with this information survive. Reading it, Tally remembers what’s wrong with pretty life, and the fun stops cold. Then a message from Tally’s ugly past arrives. It’s everything she’s ever wanted.īut beneath all the fun - the nonstop parties, the high-tech luxury, the total freedom - is a nagging sense that something’s wrong.
